Meet the Smith Family!
Jason and Jennifer Smith got married in 1998 and set up their home in the area. Jennifer grew up locally and Jason moved here from Abilene when the two got engaged. After living in several suburbs in the area, the Smith’s have settled down in the Keller/Roanoke area to raise their daughter Raylen.
Jason works for JP Morgan Chase in Dallas and Jennifer is a nanny for a family in Keller where she gets to take her daughter with her. Jennifer left her career in event planning shortly after adopting Raylen in order to bond and spend more time with her.
Raylen was nearly two when the Smith’s welcomed her into their home in 2006 after she had lived in homeless shelters most of her young life. The Smith’s learned about Raylen through a cousin that knew the family caring for her and began the pursuit to adopt her. Jason and Jennifer count Raylen as a blessing and a miracle after struggling with infertility for seven years. Raylen’s adoption became final in 2007 and she will turn four this summer. Through all of this, the couple has developed a love and passion for orphans and hopes to eventually serve families in the community to increase adoption awareness.
The Smith’s belong to Milestone Church in Keller where they serve in the Children’s Ministry. Both Jason and Jennifer are passionate about their faith and are grateful to belong to a strong church family. Milestone Church, led by Pastor Jeff Little, has recently bought the current Met Church building and will be moving to the new location in February. Jason and Jennifer are excited about this move and the increased opportunities for the Milestone family to serve Keller and surrounding areas.
In addition to work and church life, the Smith family enjoys many activities. Jason is an avid sports fan and outdoorsman. He loves to take weekend camping trips, barbeque and play racquetball. Jennifer is a scrapbook lover and spends her free time constructing memory books for the family. Jennifer also enjoys photography and interior decorating as well as updating her blog and hopes to host a ladies Bible study in her home for the women in her neighborhood this summer. Raylen is a curious and busy four year old. She is looking forward to taking swim lessons this summer and continuing her ballet classes this fall. Jennifer is planning to start homeschooling Raylen this Fall with a preschool curriculum as well.
The Smiths are a busy family with strong roots in the area. They are passionate about people and what life has in store in the days to come.
