Monart School of Art has opened registration for our weekly summer classes as well as our unique weekly camps. In addition to our core drawing program, we are offering digital arts courses – a program for students 4-adult. MONART Summer Camps 2010 Art Camps will run Monday-Thursday each week with a different offering each week. Students 5-7 will be in the morning session (9:00a-12:00p) and older students 8-12 will be in the afternoon session (1:00p-4:00p). Some class sizes are limited. Cost for the camps are $150.00 with a $100.00 deposit.
June 7-10 – Amazon Adventures – Learn to draw all the different characters and environments of the Amazon. (Morning/Afternoon)
June 14-17 – Deadly Creatures – We’ll be learning all about deadly creatures on earth. Bird-eating spiders, Nile Crocodiles, Komodo Dragons, Grizzly Bears, Killer Whales, Great White Sharks (Morning/Afternoon)
June 14-17 – Space Explorations – Learn something new about the mysteries of space! Get lost in wonder as we draw and create space vehicles, planets and other celestial phenomenon! (Mornings/Afternoons)
June 21-24 – Cartooning! - Learn how to draw you own comic strip and some of the favorites out there. This class is only offered to older students 8+. (Afternoons only)
June 21-24 – CLAYMATION - This is one of our most unusual camps. For the hidden filmmaker inside each of us. Manipulate with clay and develop your own movie on CD using stop film photography. This is a team-building project where you have to develop your own script, characters and set design. Class limited to 6. (Afternoons only)
June 28-July 1 – Acrylic Painting – For students 8 and older. (Afternoons only)
June 28-July 1 – Oceans and Pirates – Ahoy Matie. Calling all pirates to come learn about some of the fascinating real pirates from the 1780’s. Some details of mermaids and sea monsters may appear at any time. (Mornings/Afternoons)
No camps on Monday, July 5th
July 6-8 – Sponge Bob Attack! (Short term 3 day camp) Learn to draw Sponge Bob and his friends. Class runs Tuesday-Thursday and has a break on tuition at $120.00. (Morning session only)
July 6-8 Pencil Camp – (Short term 3 day camp) For older students who can’t stop sketching in pencil. Encouragement for a beginning portfolio illustrator. Learn how to draw on the computer with a digital drawing tablet (Special tuition $120.00)
July 6-7 – 2 DAY PHOTOGRAPHY – 8:30-10:30a class. Learn how to use your digital camera from an expert photographer. Camera’s not supplied.. $75.00
July 12-15 – Big Cats! Hear us roar! We’ll be drawing all of the major big cats including Puma, Tiger, Lion, Ocelot. Different mediums will be used. Students will also make their own version of their favorite cat in clay. (Morning/Afternoon)
July 12-15 – FLASH II – (Animation) For students 8 and older who have already taken Flash I classes. This is an advanced level class on drawing on the computer. Afternoon session only 1-4p.
July 19-22 – Dragons and Dinosaurs - From the complex to the easy – dragons of many kinds as well as all the popular dinosaurs will be drawn. Learn about the myths and backgrounds of Dragon lore. (Mornings/Afternoons)
July 19-22 – Machinery and Transportation – Lois is a big fan of old cars and machinery- From fast cars to cigar boats; we’ll learn to draw many of these sleek machines. (Mornings/Afternoons)
July 26-29 – Pet class – Special 4-10 age grouping. Learn all about the care of cats, dogs, turtles, guinea pigs, rabbits, snakes and fish. Sculpt your favorite pet. Some Littlest Pet Shop characters will also be drawn. (Morning session only).
July 26-29 – CLAYMATION This is a team-building project where you have to develop your own script, characters and set design. Class limited to 6. (Afternoons only)
August 2-5th – Hollywood – Draw some of the newest Hollywood releases including scenes from “Avatar, How to Train Your Dragon, Alice in Wonderland and The Princess Frog.” This class is only offered in the afternoon and is for older 8+ students.
August 9-12 – Artist Du Jour – Older students only – afternoon session. Prepare your palette, grab your paintbrush and travel through the renaissance, 19th century Paris and modern art of today.
August 16-19th – Cowboy Camp – Younger students-morning session only. Get your kids corralled as we look at the fascinating world of cowboys. Horses, saddles, boots and gear. Longhorn cattle may just stampeed!
