Fort Worth Alliance Air Show 2009 - October 24th and 25th
The 2009 Fort Worth Alliance Air Show, featuring this year's only North Texas performance by a major U.S. military jet team, will be held on October 24 and 25. Highlighted by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, this year's show also includes the U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team, the Shockwave Jet Truck, Julie Clark, one of the first female aerobatic and commercial pilots, and Kent Pietsch, who as part of his act lands on an RV that, as a special treat for this show only, will be driven by 3-time Indianapolis 500 Champion Bobby Unser.
The air show also will feature static display of numerous military and civilian aircraft, as well as the 19,500 square-foot Virtual Army Experience (VAE), which provides participants with a virtual test drive of the United States Army. The core of the VAE is the Army computer game, rendered with state-of-the-art Army training simulation technology to create a life-size, networked virtual world.
For children young and old, there is the Kids Zone, featuring the world's tallest inflatable slide, and several flight simulators.
The event will be held at Fort Worth Alliance Airport. Gates open at 9 a.m. with performances beginning at 10 a.m. and running until late afternoon. Admission is free. Parking is $20 per vehicle.
