Our Great City

The Lone Star Children’s Choir is a new choral program for young singers in Keller and the surrounding areas. The group is open to students entering 4th-6th grades in the fall of 2009. Singers from public, private, or home school environments are welcome. The choir is not intended to replace a child’s participation in his or her school music program; rather it is available to enhance each student’s musical and performance skills. All singers are encouraged to join their school or church choirs in addition to this organization.

The mission of the Lone Star Children’s Choir is to provide children with the experience of musical artistry and performance opportunities that foster creativity, personal expression, and self-confidence. The goal is for the group to achieve and maintain the highest musical standards and integrity, while providing local opportunities for area residents to hear distinctive children’s choral literature. The vision is for the future of the Lone Star Children’s Choir is one of a vital, growing choral program that is committed to excellence, built on a strong foundation of musical knowledge and skills, and is an asset to the families of our community.


These choirs will be included in the Lone Star Children’s Choir:

• Preparatory Choir - This Choir will include singers in grades 4-6, who are at a beginning to intermediate skill level, and will meet one hour per week.

• Prelude Choir - (formed if more than 100 students apply) - This Choir will include singers in grades 4-6, who are at an intermediate skill level, and will meet one hour per week.

• Premier Choir - This Choir will include singers in grades 4-6, who are at an intermediate to advanced skill level, and will meet one and a half hours per week.

* There is a yearly tuition; however assistance is available based on financial need.
