Our Great City
Meet the Tolliver Family
The Tolliver family moved from New York to Texas six years ago and found home to be in the city of Keller. Even though the move required some adjusting, the Tollivers found a love and respect for the city of Keller. Paul Tolliver is a police officer who serves as a school resource officer, chaplain, and crisis negotiator in the town of Keller. As he works in a public school, his aspiration is to point kids in the right direction. His heart is to see them excel in life regardless of any challenges they may face. He serves Keller with the desire to help the city thrive.
Paul and Kavita attend Gateway Church and have served there through various ministries. Paul is currently lead deacon over water baptism ministries and takes great pleasure in teaching and encouraging people to take the public stand to love and serve Jesus Christ. He has also taught premarital classes on communication. He takes the covenant of marriage very seriously and desires that every marriage should be successful. They both have served together as small group leaders for families and have enjoyed connecting with families of varying life experiences. Gateway Church’s motto is “We’re All About People” and Paul and Kavita try to live this out making sure the love of God reaches everyone they meet.
Kavita has served as overseer to the first and second grade classes at Gateway Church and has used her artistic talent to paint murals and furniture for the children’s department. Being a home school mom, she takes great joy in spending time with and teaching her children the three “R’s” as well as developing solid godly characters within them. She has been able to use her background in art to teach other home schooled children drawing basics, while reinforcing in them that “everyone can create”.
Tatianna is their precious 11 years old daughter, who loves art as much as her mother. With the help of Monart, Tatianna’s talent is developing beautifully. She also has a strong talent for creative writing. She is a caring and sensitive child with a love for baking, cooking, swimming and horses. Tatianna along with some friends have raised money for the Keller Animal Shelter in hope to make a difference to the rescued animals. She loves to have family movie or game nights and enjoys time with her friends, dog named Spoodles and bunny named Nutmeg.
Jaden is their 4 years old, full of surprises, little boy. He is all about Star Wars and loves to have a light saber in his hand at all times. He enjoys playing baseball, cooking and Daddy time. He brings excitement and great joy to the family.
A little over six years ago, Paul and Kavita Tolliver lost their newborn baby girl named Vianna. She was sweet and lived to be almost one month old. Vianna is deeply missed by the family, but her life will never fade away. The Tolliver’s keep her memory alive by talking freely about her to those they meet. Her sickness and death was a pivotal time in their lives in which they chose to draw closer to God and rely on His grace and mercy. Even though her existence was short, her life lives on.
So when you see the Tolliver's out in Keller or at one of their many activities at Gateway, be sure to say Hi to our "Family of the Month" and tell them you read about them on OurGreatCity.com!
