19th Annual Wild Wild West Event - September 26, 2009

Dust off your boots, find your best pair of jeans, and join us for Keller’s 19th annual Wild Wild West Fest on September 26. Bear Creek Park, located at 400 Bear Creek Park Road, will be transformed into a lively western village, reenacted by a talented group of entertainers and crafts people blended with modern day amusements. The festival features a variety of events and exhibits that recreate and celebrate the diverse cultural influence of our Texas heritage. Wild Wild West Fest is sure to have something for everyone to enjoy.

Activities will include a quick draw challenge, where two quick draw artists demonstrate and instruct event goers to draw against each other. In the activity tent at 2 PM participants can watch and even take part in live armadillo races. There will be train rides, a petting zoo and pony rides. Children young and old can enjoy having their faces painted, or participate in carnival games.

Listen to the engines roar at the Lone Star Garden Tractor Pull at 11:00 am. Enjoy the thrill of the competition as the mowers see who can pull the load the farthest.

The widely famous Children’s Stick Horse Rodeo will feature the finest in barrel racing, and even bull riding for children seven years old and younger. The rodeo kicks off at High Noon at the Wild West Stick Horse Rodeo Arena, where registration will begin at 11:00 am.

The Wild Wild West Fest Arts and Crafts Tradin’ Post area will have a variety of merchandise that’s sure to draw your attention. The air will be filled with taste tantalizing aromas form the Vittles and Grub Waterin’ Hole. Folks will be sure and find something to whet their appetite with the variety of victuals offered: mouth watering hamburgers, hot dogs, fried Twinkies, funnel cakes, pork chop sandwiches, and much more.

Come and sit a spell at the Main Stage and enjoy a variety of community acts and entertainment. Performers include the the award-winning children’s entertainer, Mister Mark. As well as David Chicken, Trinity Ballet, King & Roberts, music from, Hannah Nicole Witkowski, All-Star Dance, Wild about Learning, Dance Continuum and Texas Children’s Choir.

How the West Was Run 5K and Fun Run

8:00 am to 10:00 am, Begins at Keller Town Hall Day of Race, $30 for 10K, $25 for 5K, $10 for Fun Run Benefiting the Keller Pointe Scholarship Program

Wild West Rodeo Circuit Headquarters Hosts the 11th Annual Stick Horse Rodeo

Registration begins at 11:00 am, for ages seven and under at the Rodeo Arena Barrel Racing – Bull Riding – Buckles to Winners

Lone Star Garden Tractor Pull

Engines Roar at 11:00 am in the west field area

Dallas Dillo Derby

You are not going to want to miss the armadillo races. Participants from the crowd will get to pick out their dillo and cheer him to the finish line. This event is from 2-5 pm at the Event Tent.

Lil’ Buckaroo Activities

There are plenty of things to keep the little ones busy while the grownups check out the Arts and Craft Vendors. Children can enjoy a petting zoo, pony rides, bounce houses and much more.
