The Lone Star Children’s Choir is a new choral program for young singers in Keller and the surrounding areas. The group is open to students entering 4th-6th grades in the fall of 2009. Singers from public, private, or home school environments are welcome. The choir is not intended to replace a child’s par-ticipation in his or her school music program; rather it is available to enhance each student’s musical and performance skills. All singers are encouraged to join their school or church choirs in addition to this organization.

Our very own Keller resident Melissa d’Arabian will be one of 10 finalists on Food Network’s hit reality show, “The Next Food Network Star,” which will begin its new season at 8 p.m. Sunday, June 7.

The winner – who will star in six episodes of his or her own cooking show on the network – will be announced on the Sunday, Aug. 2, show.

Peter and Amber Augustin grew up in North Texas. They bought their home in Keller nearly 14 years ago. When they lost their home in a flood in 2007, they moved into temporary housing while figuring out what the next step for the family would be. Many of you recently saw that they were chosen to receive a new home on ABC’s Extreme Home Makeover, they moved into their new home November 2008.
