The Keller High School Jazz Band proudly presents its 8th Annual Jazz Café on Tuesday, May 12 at 7 p.m. in the KHS Commons. Admission is free.

The 21-member jazz ensemble will be playing selections including "In the Stone," "Count Bubba," "5.4 on the Richter Scale" and "Killer Joe." Also performing will be three guest soloists, all alumni of the Grammy-nominated University of North Texas One O'clock Lab Band. They are Bryan English on trombone, David Lown on saxophone and Jason Levi on trumpet.

The Jazz Band is directed by Mark McGahey and Frank Chapple.

The Child Nutrition Department's "Kids Can Cook" Competition originally scheduled for Thursday, May 7 has been moved to Wednesday, May 20. The event will still run from 3-7 p.m. in the Keller High kitchen and cafeteria.

Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor positions are still available and we're holding a special Open House for interested applicants from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday, May 11.

Summer job seekers are invited to drop by the facility for an opportunity to fill out an application, talk to managers and current lifeguards, and get an up-close look at the aquatic amenities. We'll be scheduling interviews, so be sure to bring your calendar with you, too. If you can't make the open house, stop by Human Resources to fill out an application.
