Summer Chalk Art Festival

Central Market invites you to join us for the Summer Chalk Art Festival. It’s a seven year tradition for Central Market, but our first in Southlake! Rocky Top Therapy Center is this years beneficiary. Rocky Top is a local therapeutic riding center providing comprehensive rehabilitation for physically and emotionally challenged individuals and at-risk youth.

Chalk Art dates back to the 16th Century where artists created works of art on the pavement of the piazza’s of Italy. This art form is continued today in local festivals across the country and around the world. You’ll find something for all ages as the festivities begin at 9:00 AM. The artists be working on their creations throughout the day, using pastel chalks. Some will work on large pavement squares and others will be working on gessobords. Children will enjoy the Kids Korner where they will be provided with chalk to “color” on their own pavement square. Live music, balloon artists and face painters will entertain and captivate the attention of all. Artists will complete their artwork by 4:00 PM and awards will be presented at 4:30 PM. A silent auction will be held for the artwork on gessobords, as well as other donations from local retailers, raising additional funds for Rocky Top Therapy Center.

Keller Moms Konnect, the city's largest non-profit moms club is beginning their yearly membership campaign with an Open House at the Keller Pointe outdoor pool. Those interested in learning more about the club or who want to join are invited to bring their families and a picnic dinner to the Keller Pointe on Wednesday, July 16th at 6:00PM. Admission will be free, just look for the table with hot pink balloons.

Mothers who join Keller Moms Konnect enjoy the support network of area moms along with organized playgroups, weekly activities, seasonal parties, a monthly night out, book clubs, and more. Dues are only $20 for the year.
